Die Forschung von RaT befasst sich mit der Erkundung von Transformationsprozessen im Spannungsfeld von Religionen und Gesellschaft. Die Vielfalt der involvierten Disziplinen ermöglicht ein breites Spektrum an Zugängen, u.a. kommen empirische und hermeneutische Methoden zur Anwendung. Die Untersuchung gesellschaftlicher Wandlungsprozesse ist folglich ebenso Gegenstand der Arbeit wie die Auslegung jener religiösen Texte, die für das Welt- und Selbstverständnis einer Gesellschaft und der ihr angehörenden Individuen von entscheidender Bedeutung sind.

 

From evolving forms of inter-religious dialogue within shifting contexts to the coalitions between religious and political actors, and collaborations within social movements, religions are actively participating in novel alliances. These alliances are forged, lived and narrated in the public sphere, among religious groups as well as in the encounter of religious and secular actors.
