Forschungsprojekt Ludger Müller: Politik ohne Religion? Laizität des Staates, Religionszugehörigkeit und Rechtsordnung

The results of discussions and debates in this research project have already been published in an edition with Schöningh-Verlag, Paderborn.

Can religions at all be related to politics? Can politicians also be religious leaders? Has the mixing of religious and political questions and interests not been proved to be dangerous? Basic questions on this topic and on two specific areas of conflict - financing of churches and religious education - are discussed and analyzed especially with regards to secular and religious law.

Simple solutions do not seem to be possible when one takes the various circumstances in different regions and religions into account. Religions are always also part of public life.
